Fuse Box

Fuse Box

A fuse box houses fuses and circuit breakers that are used to protect a vehicle’s electronic devices and components from short circuits and overloading. Depending on your vehicle, you may have one or more fuse boxes.

A faulty fuse box can cause a number of electrical system problems, including failed electrical circuits, and smoke or smells coming from the fuse box. If this is the case for you, make sure to read the following fuse box replacement recommendations.

Fuse box maintenance

  • If you replace a fuse, you should check its mounting place for deposits of corrosion and resurface it if necessary.
  • When replacing a fuse, use the same amperage replacement to prevent damage to the electrical circuit components.
  • Replacing the same fuse on a regular basis is an indicator of a fault with the circuit.
