Crankcase

Crankcase

A crankcase is designed to provide support to a crankshaft. Located just between the engine block and the oil pan in your vehicle, it allows the crankshaft to spin freely so it can transmit maximum power and torque to your gear box.

Signs of a bad crankcase

  • Drops of oil or leaks on the engine
  • Annoying knocking noise

Crankcase maintenance

  • Follow special oil sealing procedures when mounting a crankcase.
