A cylinder head is located on the top of the engine block, forming the combustion chamber and housing the camshaft, intake/exhaust valves and spark plugs.
Signs of a bad cylinder head
- Engine overheating
- Misfiring
- Increased oil consumption
Cylinder head repair and maintenance
- The mounting surface of the cylinder head should be inspected for damage when installing a new head gasket
- You should follow the manufacturer’s recommendations to prevent damage to the cylinder head when replacing spark plugs.
