An engine block, also known as a cylinder block, is the heaviest part of the engine, which brings together the crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods.


Signs of a bad engine block

  • Abnormal engine noise
  • Oil leaks on the engine 

Engine block repair and maintenance

  • A cracked, damaged or worn-out engine block is a high-road to an engine replacement.
  • If the cylinder head and the intake manifold are in good condition, an engine block replacement may be recommended.
