Engine Valve
An engine valve is a mechanical component that allows the flow of air and fuel into a cylinder or exhaust gases out of it during the combustion process. Every cylinder features at least one intake and one exhaust valve.
Signs of a bad engine valve
- Engine misfiring
- Abnormal oil consumption
Engine valve repair and maintenance
- If engine valves are repaired or replaced, the engine head should be inspected for wear and damage.
- Deposits on the engine valves may cause overheating and reduce engine performance.
- The usage of special fuel additives may help to keep the valves clean.
- All valves must be properly adjusted. Otherwise, they can overheat and wear out quickly.
