PCV Hose
PCV Hose
When an engine is running, some gases leak through the gap between the cylinder walls and the piston rings into the crankcase. The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose routes them back to the intake manifold and then to the combustion chamber.
Signs of a bad PCV hose
- Engine vacuum leaks
- Abnormal engine idling
- Check engine light is on
PCV hose maintenance
You should check the PCV hose for damage every time you work on the PCV system.
