Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System

Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) System

When your engine is running, some gases from the combustion chamber escape past the pistons into the crankcase. If these gases are ignored, they will collect in the crankcase and cause serious damage to the crankshaft, connecting rods and other related components. To avoid this problem, your engine is equipped with a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system, which redirects combustion gases back into the combustion chamber, so they can be burned with fuel. The PCV system features a set of tubes and a one-way valve to maintain optimum pressure inside the crankcase, while reducing your emissions.
