EGR Vacuum Solenoid
An EGR vacuum solenoid, which stands for exhaust gas recirculation solenoid, is an electronic computer-operated valve that is used to deliver engine vacuum to the exhaust gas recirculation valve. A faulty solenoid will lead to problems with acceleration, increased emissions and an illuminated check engine light.
EGR vacuum solenoid troubleshooting
You should check the EGR valve for wear and malfunctioning as well as all related vacuum hoses for damage each time you replace the solenoid.
