Exhaust Down Pipe

Exhaust Down Pipe

An exhaust down pipe is a flexible pipe that routes exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold to the rest of the exhaust system. It allows for some movements of the exhaust system and the engine when the vehicle is running.

A damaged or worn-out exhaust down pipe may cause an exhaust gas leak and different kinds of abnormal sounds, including squeaking or creaking noises during idling. In some cases, the check engine light may also come on.

Exhaust down pipe replacement

  • If the exhaust down pipe is replaced or removed, all related gaskets and clamps should be replaced.
