Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Gasket
An exhaust gas recirculation valve gasket is used to seal the gap between an EGR valve and its seat. It is made from heat-resistant material to withstand high exhaust gas temperatures.
A broken or worn-out exhaust gas recirculation valve gasket can become a source of exhaust gas leaks, resulting in improper idling, increased emissions, and an illuminated check engine light. Once a failed gasket is detected it must be replaced with a new one. It should also be replaced each time the exhaust gas recirculation valve is removed.
